Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions may be requested in the following ways:

  • By post (Please include a stamped addressed envelope if you wish us to return to you by post)
  • In person - by calling in at the surgery
  • By fax on 01684 274911
  • Online through Systmonline Online Services via the link at the top of this page. Usernames and passwords for this service can be obtained from reception by calling in during opening hours with a form of identification. Click here for more information

Please allow 2 full working days before collecting your prescription from the surgery.

Please note that in line with most GP practices for reasons of safety we do not accept prescription requests over the telephone.

Chemist Collections

Most of the local pharmacies run a collection service for repeat prescriptions, but they require four working days; please ask at the local chemists for details. Alternatively, let our receptionist know which pharmacy you would like your prescriptions to be sent to and we will forward the prescriptions to them. Please allow four working days if collecting your prescription from a pharmacy.

For reasons of safety we cannot take requests over the telephone.

Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS)

The two Tewkesbury Practices have all been enabled to join the Electronic Prescribing Service.  This means that we are linked electronically with our local Pharmacies as well as many other Pharmacies around the country that are also involved in this project.

As the Pharmacies have been actively signing up customers in readiness for the start of EPS in this area you may well be aware of electronic prescribing.  The service allows the transfer of your prescription details between the Practice and your Chemist once your request has been approved by your GP. This will save time in either collection by yourself from the surgery or waiting for the daily Pharmacy collection service.

Please note that if you are a new patient to the Practice and have previously signed up for the service in a different area you will need to let us know before you order a prescription to avoid it being sent to your last registered pharmacy.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
